Drachis Argonians Mod - Old World Style Gaming Has A New Twist

A relatively new game mod Drachis Argonians is the result of an ambitious freelance artist, an artistic person and an experienced RPG modder team all working to push the boundaries of game mods. But the question that you need to ask yourself is, why? Why did they create such a fantastic mod, but it has been discontinued just a few months after launch? Well, after much deliberation, I have discovered why.

I've seen this particular mod become one of the most popular mods ever released, in fact second only to Dead Rising: New Vegas. I really liked the way it was created, the quality of the work, the user-friendliness (it felt like an expert advisor), the fact that it had a good story behind it, and ultimately the way it tied in with the rest of the game. But, as is true with many mods, this one too, was met with criticism from those who don't understand it or think it's worth while. I think, overall, the Drachis Argonians Mod really hit its mark, and did so with aplomb. But, like many game mods, if it didn't catch on, it would've been a disappointment.

The problem I have with this kind of mods is that, like many other similar creations, it is created by somebody who doesn't understand the concept of what an immersion system is or doesn't want to spend the time learning it. They simply want a quick fix and to make a buck. And unfortunately, that's often the way it goes. But, the Drachis Argonians Mod was not like that. It took some time to get used to, the story behind it wasn't too deep, but it was engrossing and entertaining, and actually did a pretty good job of recreating the feel of an old version Arkenstone game.
